Girls C had two games this week against St. Philomena @ St. Paul. Although they came up short on the scoreboard, they continued to play with great effort and improve each time out. The Allie Diaz and Ortasele Aisuan had strong defensive games for the Saxons.
Girls B played a tough game against the Lady Crusaders on Saturday. The team continues to improve with every game, gaining the experience and skill needed to be successful in the future. The girls played amazing defense throughout the game and truly gave it their all.
Girls Varsity had an impressive showing at the Cantwell Tournament. They defeated Notre Dame 29-25 in overtime. And then in the 3rd place game against St. Paul, the Lady Saxons were down by 2 with 13 seconds left in the second overtime. After a timeout, the girls ran the inbounds play to perfection with Diana delivering a perfect pass to Dannielle who shot a 3 pointer with time running out to give the Lady Saxons a 33-32 victory over St. Paul. The girls have played amazingly well this season, improving with each passing day and showing outstanding teamwork.
The Lady Saxons followed up their 3rd place finish in the Cantwell Tournament, with a dominating win over St. Odilia this past Sunday. The girls played outstanding offense with every player scoring. The Lady Saxons are currently undefeated in league play with a number 1 overall ranking.
